bilingual problems
Nov. 6th, 2004 11:07 pmToday I told Matteo "Er is geen reden tot paniek" (there is not reason to panic) and he exclaimed "panino! Ik moet panino!" (panino = sandwich in Italian, "Ik moet"= I have to, he should say "Ik wil", I want). This took some explaining :-).
Sometimes it is very difficult to understand what he is saying as he will mispronounce mixed Italian and Dutch, with some strange influences like "das" instead of "dit", but "dit" in German is "das".
