Battle of the airways
Jan. 11th, 2012 01:45 pmAt home we have ethernet cabling for the fixed things, but we were still using wireless for the laptops in the living.
The performance of that was horrid. Sometimes we got 1.5 Mbit/sec down, 2 Mbit/sec upload. So I decided and got a E4200. The difference is stunning, we now have 28 Mbit/sec down and 5.3 Mbit/sec upload :).
The major factor I think is that the 2.4 GHz range is pretty much full due to the neighbors, but the 5GHz band is totally clean.
The range of the new router is even better then the old one so a win/win/win.
