In the boarding school (we lived too far from the only school of the BSD to go back and forth) we often played a board game about running an oil company.

The game tooks months to play and was very nice. A bit of googleing turned it up: Öl für uns alle from 1976.

Hm, I have a weak memory of having played that once or twice. We mostluy played Nya Finans and Bondespelet (that'd be "New Finance" and "The farmer game") when we played "games involving trading" (Monopoly just wasn't as fun as either of those).
