Openbedrijvendag
Oct. 3rd, 2005 10:58 pmThis weekend was "openbedrijvendag", a day when many companies offer guides tours to the public, mostly to generate 'good vibes'. We decided to go to SN Brussels where we had a nice time looking at their airplanes from up close and talking to the maintenance people and seeing their tools.
The 'reject bin' had some impressive samples of broken jet engines, rubbed off tires and other broken equipment. The 'find the hairline crack in the wheel' demonstration was nice: the detector went off line a siren, but the crack was almost invisible, even when using magnifiers.
Afterward Matteo and I went to the zoo at Plankendael where after seeing a few animals we experienced a torrential downpour and had to flee back home.
Oh Saturday was mostly taken up by an intervention at work.
