Yesterday I watched an amazing documentary on Arte on the use of subs in the cold war. In it was revealed that the intrusions of "soviet" subs into Swedish waters in the beginning of the 1980's was almost certainly caused by the USA navy! Use as subs as a terror weapon against a 'friendly' nation that was thinking of starting up negotiations with the USSR to have a kind of detente.
The more I hear of the effect of the USA on the cold war the more I think De Gaule was right all along...

After seeing the power of nightmares, sources seem listed here, I've grown very suspicious of recent history...

Now, I don't doubt NATO operated subs in Swedish waters, I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't, and don't today. And I wouldn't be surprised to find we ran PsyOps against friendly nations to help 'keep them friendly'.
