Almost doing C++ again
Apr. 6th, 2004 06:22 pmIt seems the economy is picking up. A new guy at $WORK announced he signed with another company even before his first day! This drove my bosses with the idea "extreme times demand extreme measures" to ask me to consider doing C++ again.
It is difficult to express the true horror of this, because when you know Common Lisp and you are forced to "program" in C++ every line is a curse. For me the feeling of "there is a better way" is overpowering. The lack of macros, of real functions, of any efficient way to express ideas. Oh the horror...
I was very happy they decided to give the job to another guy!
So Oracle 10i on Linux here I come :-)
