When people (like me) complain on debian-legal that the "editorial GR" in Debian was misleading we're told it was all clear and anyway, we have a concensus. I have been thinking long and hard about this and it seems to me we're heading to either a split, a movement to another distribution (ubuntu I guess) or another GR. Some other old timer also did some hard thinking and decided to leave after sarge. I think I will wait and see... Anyway, I'm not a big player in neither world anymore.

That reminds me... Woudl you want a helping hand with CL packaging? I'm probably going to be more hindrance than help before I get up to speed and things will still be funneled through yourself, because (frankly) I refuse to jump through the DD hoops.

Thanks, I could use some help, so a while ago I created cl-debian to coordinate CL packaging for debian. To my surprise some people popped up and offered build problems (always useful) and are talking about packaging other packages. So far no real progress yet, but good signs.
I'm always willing to sponsor CL packages.

I came across your blog on this and I am having the exact same problem with the exact same hardware (though I am running knoppix). Did you ever find a solution?

It seems that from kernel 2.6.11.6 it works(!).
