Last weekend we went with some friends to Putscheid in Luxemburg to have a weekend out.
In the past this was an event filled with strange activities ("We're out of wood." "Lets pull down this tree"), extreme pyromania ("Let us fill the BBQ oil drum with oil then pour water into it". Result: 15m high fireball) and a lot, a lot of drinking.
Now with 6 children running round it became decidedly calmer, but still we managed to set alight a large amount of wood, to go for a '30 minute walk in the woods' for the better part of 3 hours, to consume large amounts of drink, to have the CERN team defeat the CIA and the Al-Qaida teams, to have children having a lot of fun in the sand, playing football, chasing the goats and watching people trying to lift off into the skies.
The BBQ was great and copious and the people doing the quiz did a wonderful job. All in all a great amount of fun.
Update: found a nice picture of the place at Poul site.

Date: 2005-10-12 07:46 am (UTC)I wondered who took the manuscript, which belongs to the CERN-team. I really hope it's in safe hands..

Date: 2005-10-12 12:08 pm (UTC)Oh, the manuscript? I remember a incident involving the papers, a drunk professor and a raging campfire, but I'm uncertain about the details.
