old and new
Feb. 23rd, 2006 10:28 pmToday I went to city hall to get my new passport. New the desk were ads for the 'new' high-tech passports. I gave my old paper-based one and the clark started to get my information and to put together a request for a new one. So he takes a small cardboard form, pushes back the chair and starts working on the pre-war typewriter. Pre-war as in pre-14-18, not 'nam or stuff like that.
I made the comment that the most high-tech passport in the world was ordered from the oldest typewriter I've ever seen and them we started talking about not relying on modern technology, unlike some others.
